The Ocotillo Wells Subbasin exists in both San Diego and Imperial Counties. This subbasin is bounded by Fish Creek and Coyote Mountains to the west. We have a good spot at Ocotillo Wells that enables the kids to ride within eyesight while the adults get prepared for a longer ride with them. Vehicles span everything from dirtbikes, quads, side-by-sides, to 70's era dune-buggies. In the dirtbike class, we've got representation from all manufactures, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki. On Sunday I rode from Salton City to Superstition. Rode around there a bit then onto Ocotillo Wells and back to Camp at SC. Around 90 miles and still had an 1/8th tank of gas. Where is the boundary between Ocotillo Wells and Superstition when it comes to enforcement? Or is there one? Pole line is fast now since they graded it clear down to 78. Does anyone have a preferred route for going from Ocotillo though Plaster City, Superstition and onto Ocotillo Wells? Was doing some research online and looks like the easy route is going through Coyote Wash and following the railroad tracks to Split Mountain Rd. but was wondering if anyone has details on a more technical route or some of the cool landmarks in the area
